We'll start our day with a hearty breakfast at our hotel in Diskit, gearing up for an unforgettable journey to the quaint village of Turtuk. The distance from Diskit to Turtuk is approximately 90 kilometers, which should take us around 3 hours to reach, considering the winding mountain roads and breathtaking scenery along the way.
As we depart from Diskit, be prepared to be mesmerized by the rugged beauty of the Nubra Valley, with its towering mountains, lush greenery, and meandering streams. Our route will take us through picturesque villages, where we'll catch glimpses of traditional Ladakhi life and hospitality.
One of the highlights of our journey will be a stop at the historic village of Turtuk, situated close to the Line of Control with Pakistan. Turtuk is renowned for its stunning landscapes, lush orchards, and warm-hearted locals, offering a unique cultural experience unlike any other in Ladakh. The road conditions from Diskit to Turtuk are generally good, with well-maintained highways and smooth stretches of road. For lunch, we'll stop at a local eatery in Turtuk, where you can savor authentic Ladakhi cuisine while soaking in the serene ambiance of the village.
After exploring the charm and beauty of Turtuk, we'll make our way back to Diskit in the evening, where we'll check into our hotel upon arrival. You'll have some time to freshen up and relax with a cup of tea or coffee before dinner. In the evening, you can either opt for some relaxation at the hotel or explore the local markets and monasteries of Diskit. Dinner will be served at the hotel, followed by an overnight stay.
